#Cycling4AntibioticAction & #ScienceInAfrica cycle was to the benefit of Antibiotic Action, the charitable campaign group established the British Society of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC). The aim of Antibiotic Action is to call all parties – government, health professionals, industry and charities – to identify and implement solutions within the research, regulation and economic markets to stimulate and regenerate interest in the discovery and development of antibiotic agents of the future. Through #Cycling4AntibioticAction & #ScienceInAfrica my aim was to assist in creating awareness regarding the urgent need for antimicrobial stewardship and to stimulate the conversation in Africa through i) acknowledging the #ChampionsInAfrica and the work that they are doing and ii) by raising funds to assist students in gaining access to technology to further projects relevant to antimicrobial resistance.
